Effective and last updated: July 29, 2026
Promise is operated by Virtual Beehive Inc., a Florida corporation (“Promise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how Promise handles personal information.
Our boundary: Promise is an accountability tool. It is not a legal-contract, credit, escrow, payment-enforcement, or financial-guarantee service.
Account and profile: required display name and verified email address or phone number; optional profile photo, job title, coarse country/region, and preferences. We also process subscription status and security information needed to protect accounts.
Adult eligibility: month and year of birth are used during registration to determine whether a person is at least 18. We derive a broad age band for optional aggregate analytics, then do not retain the exact birth month or year. Age and age band are never public, scored, or used for advertising.
Promise activity: private or shared promise terms, participants, due dates, optional location labels, reminders, invitation status, timeline events, evidence, outcome notes, disputes, ratings, reports, and related timestamps.
Device and usage: app version, device type, crash diagnostics, aggregate feature usage, notification permission state, fraud-prevention signals, and app/device attestation. We do not require precise location and do not perform background GPS tracking.
We use information to create and secure accounts; provide private and shared promise features; deliver invitations and notifications; calculate the transparent Accountability Score; process subscriptions; prevent abuse; investigate reports; provide support; comply with law; and improve reliability using privacy-conscious aggregate analytics.
Shared promise terms are available only to the participants and authorized administrators handling an explicit safety or dispute escalation. Invitation QR codes and links contain an opaque random token, not the promise terms. Only accepted shared promises with a final recipient-confirmed outcome are eligible for the Accountability Score. Private, pending, cancelled, and unresolved disputed promises are excluded.
The current release does not display third-party advertising. If advertising is introduced later, this policy and the app’s disclosures will be updated before collection begins. Ads will not receive private promise terms, evidence, outcome notes, or dispute content.
We may disclose limited information to service providers that operate authentication, cloud hosting, storage, notifications, analytics, app-store subscriptions, customer support, and security. Providers may use information only for contracted services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, during a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell private promise content.
We retain account and promise information while an account is active and as needed to provide requested history. A user may request permanent account deletion inside the app. Deletion removes or de-identifies account data, subject to limited security, fraud-prevention, legal, transaction-record, and backup-retention obligations. Backup copies are isolated and expire under our backup schedule rather than returning to active systems.
We use access controls, encryption in transit, platform security services, server-side authorization, rate limits, and monitoring. No system can promise perfect security or a perfect one-account-per-person guarantee. Do not place highly sensitive information, government identification, passwords, or payment-card details in promise terms or evidence.
Users may update profile information, control notifications, choose whether optional fields are provided, sign out, and delete their account. Depending on location, users may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise a right. We may verify the request before acting.
The MVP is only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly create accounts for minors. A future guardian-managed family product would require a separate design and legal/privacy review.
Promise is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards. We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by another appropriate method, and the updated effective date will be displayed here.
